Brain's inflammatory response may contribute to brain disorders.

I noticed this in my mother, who appeared to be heading into serious dementia concurrently with developing systemic cellulitis over the course of months. As she began to heal, thanks to antibiotics, her mental functioning improved concomitantly. She is now on a steroid and continues to display better mental functioning.
