another good article, from the Sept. 1 New Scientist, on how words shape and enhance our cognition. The article has several links to relevant research, such as
this article I was about to do a mindblog post on next week, on how assigning nonsense labels facilitates the learning of novel categories.
I'm fluent in many languages. If I think about the exact same topic in different languages, I end up with completely different outcome. It's weird, yet it's true.
