This Sunday will be Mindblog's 3rd birthday, the
first posting was on Feb. 8, 2006. I started it after reading an article on blogging in the New York Times, and decided that I might as well pass on some of the reading and thinking that I was doing anyway. I had no idea that by now (~1,450 posts later) it would be reaching ~10,000 people a month, of which half are in the United States. I want to thank readers who have commented on the posts or sent sent me emails with further ideas.

Is it only three years? From here it seems as if MindBlog is an establishment that has been around forever.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Deric, and many more!
Hi Deric and all,
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that I came across your Blog just in time to wish MindBlog's et al a most Happy and Wondrous Birthday on Sunday!!!!
You may want to keep track of The Shamatha Project, data collection duirng 2007, see Mind and Brain, UC Davis and/or Santa Barbara Institute for Consciousness Studies, www.sbinstitute.com for new revealing information from time to time.
Enjoy your New Year, a wondrous one to be!
Deric, I'm a physiotherapist. It would be hard for me to count the number of times some post of yours has sent me racing down an avenue of investigation to find out more about some aspect of how the human brain works. Your podcasts, lectures and online book are all great. So glad you decided to teach for free.
ReplyDeleteDeric,
ReplyDeletea del.icio.us search tells me that I found a whopping 73 of your posts interesting enough to bookmark (and I'm sure many more would've passed this particular threshold had I time enough to read them all); indeed, the happy birthday child must be my primary gateway to current research in psychology. Let me thank the tourguide (you!), and happy birthday, MindBlog. May many years be yet to come!
