Cave dwelling Salamanders have lost their eyes because they didn't need to use them. Do we loose the large number of brain cells and neural circuits we used to devote to memory as we offload that memory function to machines that we have become symbiotic with?  Is that a bad thing? When access to technology becomes pervasive and nicely integrated with the human brain as it's expected to happen soon ... we won't need so much memory and we'll need to increase other new capabilities such as multitasking among others.
