I remember this so well from actually seeing it on TV when it was first broadcast: I experienced a cognitive dissonance, confusion, the sense of entering an alternate universe, of matter and antimatter colliding.

At the time I was very distressed.

Now, yes, it's welcome, if still somehow disturbing, nostalgia.
